Synopsis: Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton’s challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Synopsis: Rene Shwartzbuckle is cuckoo for a turnip-like vegetable called rapunzel. When she spots a mouth-watering patch of the plant in Witch Izwitch’s garden, she sends her husband Walt out to ’borrow’ some. Witch Izwitch is certainly not amused! With her diabolical henchmen, the Glumpwarts, she terrorizes Walt into promising her his firstborn child in exchange for his freedom. We then jump ahead many years to Rapunzel (now you know where the name comes from!) Shwartzbuckle’s 18th birthday. The witch and the Glumpwarts show up as promised and whisk poor, innocent Rapunzel away to a tower in the forest. From here, a boisterously entertaining rescue attempt begins! Can Prince Llewellyn persevere over the powers of evil? Filled with plenty of action and fresh, hysterical characters, this show gives a new twist to an old story and a gentle message about the nature of beauty.

The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.

Policies of North Texas Performing Arts

Tickets are non-refundable. Tickets may be exchanged for another performance or production of the same value. All ticket exchanges must be made at least 24 hours in advance of show time. No exchanges will be granted after this time. To make an exchange, please contact the front of house coordinator for your show or email tickets@ntpa.org or call our box office at 972-853-7425. All tickets are valid up to 15 minutes past the documented show start time. Any tickets that have not been used by that point may be voided and sold to other patrons. Refunds are not available to patrons who arrive late. Patrons who arrive more than 15 minutes past the show start time may be allowed into the theatre if their seat has not been resold. Late patrons may be asked to wait until an appropriate time in the show to enter the theatre. Late patrons may also be asked to sit in a different seat than what is stated on their ticket to avoid disrupting the performance.
